The Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills (who are more commonly known as Ofsted) inspect and regulate academies and schools throughout England.
The Academy was inspected in June 2015, when it was judged to be providing a ‘Good’ education for its early years provision. The rest of the school was judged as requiring improvement.
Our strong Leadership Team have put into place a plan of action which will quickly move the Academy to “Good”. This includes work linked to the development of teaching, curriculum reviews, the development of behaviour and attendance and the development of engagement opportunities for parents and carers. This work is already resulting in positive impact. We received a monitoring visit in December 2015 which acknowledged the progress we have made. We have a strong relationship with Parkwood Academy, Watercliffe Meadow Primary School, Pye Bank Primary and our locality group of schools. Our staff and children have been working together very positively on a range of initiatives.
