At E-ACT Pathways Academy, we know that ‘every lesson, every day’ counts. In order to achieve their potential, children must attend school. We have a dedicated Attendance Team who work with teachers, students and families to help ensure that children attend school.

Our academy target is 95% and we expect all children to meet this. In order to encourage attendance, we offer weekly, half-termly and annual prizes and rewards.

Weekly: Best class attendance in each Key Stage is awarded with a trophy. All children with 100% attendance that week are entered into a raffle: one KS1 and one KS2 winner.

For those with 100% attendance over a half-term, an Amazon voucher will be presented to each child.

In July 2023, we are planning a trip to the seaside! A coach will take all KS1 and KS2 children with 100% attendance for a celebratory day out – here’s hoping that the weather is on our side. Our School Council are busy getting pupil feedback on other awards that they would like to see.

Our Attendance Team monitor attendance and punctuality on a daily basis. Where we see trends or developing problems with a particular student we will notify the family and offer support.

Attendance between 93-94% – A letter will be sent home highlighting the drop in the rate of attendance below the school target.

Attendance between 90-93% – A second letter will be sent home inviting the parent/carer to a meeting in school where a support plan can be set out.

Attendance below 90% – Classed as persistent absence, a meeting will be scheduled with a series of targets to be met within a given time frame. Failure to meet these targets will result in the case being passed to Local Authority level where a £2,500 fine and a further referral to Social Services will be considered.

This year, our registration times have changed: children who arrive at the Academy after 9.15am will no longer be classed as late but rather as absent. If you are worried about your child’s punctuality, please get in touch with our Attendance Team who can offer support. We also run a daily Breakfast Club which you may wish to consider.

E-ACT Pathways will not authorise any holiday requests during term time.

Did you know?

A two week holiday during term time would take your child to 94.7% attendance, assuming that they have no other days absence during that academic year! 19 days absence over any single academic year will put you at risk of receiving a £2,500 fine.

We have places available at our Nursery
